I am guessing Queen Victoria since she was always tramping around the Scottish countryside. Perhaps she wanted to get away from the crowds, pomp and ceremony associated with her normal life. Or she liked the stunning scenery and the fresh air.
Well she thought it was after her, of course. No one really knows for sure. Yes, she and Albert certainly liked Scotland, and built their beloved Balmoral on Deeside, starting a trend and really opening up the Highlands. The place is full of Scottish baronial architecture, from modest to grand.

A beautiful view! Combined with bagpipes and kilts, a bit of heaven, I'm sure.
Well, I wasn't wearing a kilt when I visited, nor was I accompanied by a bagpiper, (on this occasion!). But beautiful none the less.
