Happy anniversary!
Best wishes,
John
Congratulations on your anniversary, which is really most impressive.
I will shortly celebrate six months, so have a lot of catching up to do...
Congratulations on your fifth anniversary! Here's wishing for many more. I've learned a lot reading your posts, from artists to travel to auctions (and auction houses, my favorite topic) to China trade.
Congratulations on your incremental calendar-related milestone!
The scrolls can be awfully difficult to beat, depending on whether you have viral scrolls or plain bacterial scrolls. Carbolic soap, oral quinine, fresh air and abstinence are the best treatments.
M.O. here swears by them. Mind you, he swears by a lot of things.
Thank you Devoted Classicist, Irish Aesthete and Diogones. It's always a great pleasure to have you comment, and I've enjoyed getting to know you.
Thank you too Owl. I had to look up scrolls in that context.
Five years of posts, always interesting and informative, and looking forward to more.
About the scrolls, black and blue seems a more apt color combination. From what I can make out, the first one mentions 60 sticks, and the other two are of the format 'A hits B, B hits A'. It doesn't seem to be a standard text; perhaps it had a private meaning.
Dear Columnist — Happy Anniversary and many more postings!
Mark
And I like the boldness of that calligraphy — now there's a prime piece for a graphologist!
Parnassus - thank you! I thought you might have been able to decypher the calligraphy, but I get the gist. The meaning sounds bizarre!
Mark - the calligraphy is beautiful, and I've always thought I'd like a set, but alas not enough wallspace. It is an art form , (rather like Cy Twombly in parts).
5 years? Wow, I am sinking after three, congrats and pour a glass of champers from me.
Tabitha - if you're sinking I want to be on your Titanic. Blogging is fun for oneself, but much more fun with good interaction from readers like yourself. Thank you.
The scrolls sold for a song - USD200.
Many congratulations! Happy anniversary!! I just celebrated one year.
Cheers,
Loi
